HAUNTED HOUSE

Halloween entertainment includes historic haunted tour and pumpkin carving contest for Park City businesses.

Park City, UT – The Washington School Inn will host its first-ever Haunted Inn in conjunction with Park City's popular Main Street Trick or Treat event. The historic Park City school house turned luxury B&B will provide free Haunted Inn tours Halloween night, for kids of all ages. Participants are likely to run into the friendly and spine-tingling ghosts of Parkites' past.

Haunted Inn tours are guided by historic Park City “ghosts” and take guests through the kitchen of the crazed chef and past ghosts of departed Washington School teachers, principals and students. The free tour is appropriate for all ages, and will be open from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Halloween night (Wednesday, October 31st).

“This is an especially fun event for us, and a way to give back to the community,” explains Jean Carlan, manager of the Washington School Inn. “Chef Steve has created haunted houses in the past, and has a flair for making them authentic and exciting. We truly have a professional designing this haunted house,” she adds.

The Washington School Inn will also host a pumpkin carving contest, with over 60 pumpkins from competing Park City businesses. Businesses will be divided into five categories, with winners chosen by a panel of judges. All pumpkins will be placed on display from Oct. 28 th through Nov. 1 st , and locals can vote Sunday through Wednesday for their “People's Choice” favorite. Overnight guests are welcome to stay at the Washington School Inn during Halloween. Guests who volunteer to participate in the Haunted Inn will receive 50% off their nights stay at the inn. A special Halloween bash will follow the Haunted Inn festivities from 8:00-11:00 p.m. for overnight guests.
